On January 24, Cisco announces two new entry-level Certified Support Technician certifications that focus on entry-level tech job seekers.
- The Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Cybersecurity certification (formerly IT Specialist – Cybersecurity certification) validates entry-level Cybersecurity knowledge and skills to support and assist with tasks including security principles, network security and endpoint security concepts, vulnerability assessment and risk management, and incident handling. This certification aligns with entry-level positions such as Cybersecurity Analyst, Cybersecurity Technician, or Tier 1 Help Desk Support.
- The Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Networking certification ensures successful candidates have the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to demonstrate how networks operate, including the devices, media, and protocols that enable network communication. Specific objectives include standards and concepts, addressing and subnet formats, endpoints and media types, infrastructure, and diagnosing problems. This certification will align with entry-level positions such as Network Support Technician, Help Desk Technician, IT Support Specialist, and Tier 1 Help Desk Support.
Exam Availability
- The CCST Cybersecurity certification exam will be available March 1, 2023.
- The CCST Networking certification exam will be available April 2023.
